How Do I … ?
As long as no one is waiting for items, all library materials can be renewed in person, over the phone (862-3550) or online by logging in to your account.
You can place an item from our library on hold and request items from other libraries through inter-library loan. Simply call us at 862-3550, or you can request the items by searching the online catalog.
If you live in or pay property taxes in Hampden, just bring something with your name and current address (current license, state issued Maine State ID, or a utility bill). You’ll fill out and sign a short application card and that’s it. See the Library Card Policy on our Policies page.
There is an after-hours book drop in the alcove to the left of the front entrance.
We are not accepting donations of books while the Friends’ Bookshop is closed.
Material donations may be made anytime during regular business hours. For special or large donations call first (862-3550). If materials won’t go into the catalog, they will be given to the Friends of Edythe Dyer Library. Please do not donate encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest condensed books, VHS or audio tapes.
Monetary donations are accepted at any time. Annual donations can be made to the Endowment Fund during November. Ask the Library Director to add your name to the donor list to receive a donor card each year. You may also make donations in memory or honor of a loved one through the Library Director. You may also drop a donation into the jar on the Circulation Desk.
